A Year On...

A year since you left us,

Seems like a day,

Splits my heart asunder,

Takes the light away,

Every word,

Every hug,

Every memory of you,

Etched so deep,

Robs my sleep,

Yet here in my heart,

I will see you again,

In a new life,

Devoid of pain,

Knowing you are now in bliss,

Keeps despair at bay,

And we who loved you so,

Can carry on each day.
